When Internet Marketing Meets Network Marketing

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Lately I have been having some concerns about how to expand my network marketing business. How do I get willing prospects to listen to my opportunity. It seems that I am not the only one with these concerns. Some of my downline have the same concerns. I mean, once you’ve gone through your so-called warm-market, where do you turn to?

I’ve been developing Internet applications since 1995 when the Internet was really new and I have kept up with the various methods for getting traffic to my sites. I’ve recently started doing Network Marketing and have used all of the methods that the company and other companies tell you to promote your business. They tell you to build a list of your closest 500 friends, colleagues, etc. Then to call them and invite them to a presentation or get them to look at a DVD. After burning through my list and getting some pretty rough feedback from people that have, should I say strong feelings against the MLM industry, I decided there needed to be a better way.

Well a large part of my marketing education for my software development business was studying copywriting and other marketing techniques as promoted by Dan Kennedy, Michel Fortin, Marlon Sanders and other gurus of the Internet Marketing industry.  These various strategies work in traditional businesses to add to the bottom line.

Using Traditional Marketing Strategies
So why not use some traditional marketing strategies to promote and attract leads to your MLM. Yes, I said attract. Think about it. You really don’t have to go throw-up about your opportunity on the unsuspecting and un-interested public. What you really want to do is to get people to come to you that are looking for your type of business. These are qualified leads. People ready and hungry for what you have to offer.

Get an Education
I found a learning facility that actually teaches all about these techniques, tactics and strategies to leveraging your network marketing business and generating more leads at Renegade University. This is a step-by-step education that can take you from ground zero to a complete integrated marketing strategy to generate more leads for your Netowrk Marketing business. It is so easy, even a computer novice can build an Internet Marketing Strategy that works.

Relationships and Trust
You have to build a relationship and build trust. You must, must, must provide value. By providing something of value to your target audience you start to gain their trust. You build rapport. Its all about what you can do for them, because we’re all tuned into the same radio station WIIFM (What’s in it for me).

I started using some of the principles and techniques that I learned along the way. I built a blog. Easier than you would think. Then I started to post different articles. I had already setup a Facebook account, so I posted to my friends about my new blog articles. I started to get visitors. I went into my twitter account as well and posted a couple of links. Then I started to write articles, which I am publishing as I go along.

Provide Useful and Helpful Information
It is very important that the information you put out there is helpful and useful to your target audience. I mean you really want to develop yourself as a resource from which people can get value. You become the valued resource. You build trust. You are building long-term relationships.

Well, the traffic started to dribble in and people started to gobble up the information I put out there. The nice thing about your efforts is that the information you put out in your Internet Marketing efforts continues to work for you. Something you build once that continues to build value for you.

Getting Started
Here are a few of the things you can do to get started:

  1. Define your target market.
  2. Start a Facebook account (Social Media)
  3. Start a twitter account (more Social Media)
  4. Build a blog.

5. Start writing content for your blog, facebook account and twitter account.

Define your target market
You need to determine who is your most likely target market. This is dependent on what type of prospects you want to attract. It could be people looking to lose weight, people looking for specific software or people looking for home-based business opportunities. You need to get inside the head of your target market and aim your content at providing something of value to your target market.

Start a Facebook Account
This step is pretty easy. You want to do posts that are not just about selling what you are wanting to sell. You want to put personal stuff about you on your facebook account (not too personal) as well as information or links that might be of interest to your target market.

Start a Twitter Page
Same rules apply as your Facebook account. Of course your posts are limited to 140 characters.

Build a Blog
I use wordpress for my blog and it is really easy to setup. You don’t need to be a computer whiz to get a blog going.

Start Writing Content
You can get many ideas for articles by searching google for articles related to the keyword you think that your target market would most likely be using.

While there are so many different avenues that you can go down to implement a complete Internet Marketing system for Network Marketing. Its best to just start with a few pieces so you don’t get overwhelmed. Just get started and in time your efforts will begin to generate serious results. After you master a few of the techniques and tactics, you can start to add other pieces of the puzzle. No need to get yourself all stressed out. Have fun at it and build toward your prosperous future.

How you can use Blog pages to help you boost your search engine ranking.
Many of you have the capability to add content to your web site if you are using a blog.  You can provide useful articles to your visitors to keep them coming back and attract new visitors.

Five important points to remember about your content:

  1. provide information that is valuable to your customers
  2. must be relavent to your products/services
  3. must be keyword rich
  4. The more pages you add the better
  5. Update it often

Follow these five points and you will be helpful to your customers and it also gives you a boost in search engine positioning.

Boost your Rankings and Receive More Traffic
You see the major search engines use link popularity to boost your rankings in search results. Not only do your linking partners count in boosting your rankings, but your internal linking structure helps to boost your positioning.  Each of your pages have links to the other pages in your site.  As you add more content by creating more pages of valuable, keyword rich content, the search engines will notice more links and boost your rankings.  And, if you build your pages with keyword topics that your customers (and prospective customers) would look for, it is an additional bonus.

Keep your Customers Interested
By adding more content, you keep your customers interested, you get more traffic to your website.  More traffic, more customers, more money in your bank account. So, what are you waiting for? Start adding relevant content today!

Avatar The Movie – 3D

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Got to see Avatar the movie in 3D yesterday at a local theatre. What a wonderful work of art. The CGI was incredible to say the least. The plot was really good, but then I am easily entertained. The premise (which is also in the previews) is that a major corporation from Earth has a base on the planet Pandora and that they are mining for a very valuable mineral. Well the corporation doesn’t care what it has to do to get the mineral. Ya see, an indigenous tribe to the planet has their home sitting on top of the richest deposit of this mineral. So it kind of reminded me of America’s history of just taking the land from the Native Americans in whatever way that they could. There are a lot of points around this area that had me tearing up several times during the movie.

So, my understanding of the word Avatar comes from being exposed to computer gaming, and no, I really do not play very much in the way of computer games. An Avatar is a character that represents the person playing the game, so the person takes on the attributes of the character. Well in this movie (and again this is in the previews) a couple of scientists and a marine get into these machines and somehow transfer their consciousness into these genetically engineered characters and enter their world to study with them and gain their trust. Since one of my interests is the study of the conscious mind and the connection with the sub-conscious mind, my interest level was already high and I was really moved when they would connect with these Avatars.

Another aspect that the writers focused on is the connection between all life forms on this planet. It was really amazing to me how they worked all of this into the story. The indigenous tribe, N’avi, honor all life and have a way to connect their consciousness to a few other life forms and become one with them.

In my humble opinion, this is my new favorite movie. I guess “Somewhere in Time” has to move down the list a notch.  Avatar the movie is a must see!

Renegade Network Marketer II

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

Well, I finished reading “Renegade Network Marketer” the other night and I am extremely impressed with the quality of the information. All of the ideas support what I am doing in Renegade University to grow my network marketing business.

The most important part of growing your MLM business is to have people finding you instead of looking for people to recruit. Using internet marketing and information marketing you can educate your prospects and provide valuable information to your target market.

This idea of using tested marketing methods can be applied to any business and it is time to apply it to network marketing. Let’s get professional about it and do it right.  I’ve studied Dan Kennedy (The Ultimate Sales Letter: Attract New Customers. Boost Your Sales and others) for several years and that led me to other authors like John Caples and “Tested Advertising Methods” as well as Robert Bly’s “The Copywriter’s Handbook“. These are just some of the books that I have read and use as a reference when writing copy that sells.

So I am off on my journey to educate people as to how to use professional marketing strategies to grow their network marketing business. If you want to begin this journey with me please visit www.NetworkMarketingGold.com to get started.

Renegade Network Marketer

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

I just started reading “The Renegade Network Marketer” eBook and I am finding a lot of concepts that I can use to grow my Network Marketing business. The concept of “Attraction Marketing” is applicable to any business, however, in this case I can see how applying the strategies in this book will help me to skyrocket my network marketing team to new levels.

The value of having your prospects find you vs. having to go find them means having to do less work rather than more work with better results. This is effective marketing. There is a difference between being efficient and being effective. It is better to be effective than efficient. You can be efficient at doing all the wrong things really well or you can be effective? What’s your choice?

I’ll keep you posted on some of the gems.
